Sophie · Hatter
It Comes of Being the Eldest

If you've got any comments or critique for me and the way I play Sophie, leave it here! Thanks! ♥ |

[Sophie is in the library, attempting to escape the noise of hammering and cursing occurring at her house at the moment. She's found a table hidden towards the back which she is reading at. However as she continues to read she begins to nod off, just a bit at a time. When you find her she just might be sleeping, with her head resting on a book of recipes.] |

[Sophie is a few years younger, most likely in her early teens. She seems to have raided the closet for the most plain, gray-colored dress. She doesn't have a clue what to do with the telephone, so she is outside on the porch, looking very timid and even afraid of not knowing where she is. But she dares not step off the porch. Instead she's holding the hat she had received from Howl, though she does not know that was how she managed to get it. She's fumbling with it in her lap, and talking to it.]I'm quite certain this is all a misunderstanding. You and I are just having a dream. Yes, that's it. Soon we will wake to find that I am home and that you are not quite so plain. I'm sure you are really a beautiful, elegant hat that any lady would be lucky to wear. |

[Filtered to England]Arthur, if you hear this, I'd like to speak with you. |

[Sophie has been madly cleaning the residence of 1670 Nelson Street all day. Any bit of mess had been utterly disposed of thanks to Sophie and her broom. Currently she is outside, on the front porch, sweeping, rather angrily. She is of course, frustrated with the current circumstances Mayfield has bestowed upon her; a husband who didn't know her. Not to mention she still hasn't had a decent night's sleep since the incident with England.
Approach, if you dare.] |

[This is backdated to yesterday, but Sophie has received a small package in the mail. Within that package is a ring, but not just any ring. This was her wedding ring from Howl. Still without sleep Sophie sighs as she drops the ring into the palm of her hand, and then slips it on the appropriate finger. It had been months since she had last seen it, but as she fit the ring on it felt as if it had never left her finger.
She smiled gently as she admires the ring, though it is a melancholy smile.
Soon after she picks ups the phone.]I don't know if this is a gift or some kind of joke...but thank you nonetheless. |

[Sophie is home once again, downstairs in the kitchen with the phone. Her voice sounds tired as she is exhausted. After killing Arthur and running to Alfred's house and then not sleeping at all, she has every right to be.]Tiffany, if you're on the telephone, Arthur is back to normal. He's here at the house with me. If you're up to it, he'd really like to speak with you. To everyone else in the town, I apologize if you were frightened by what happened, or worse, if you were hurt by Arthur during his...episode. He was not himself, and never would have committed these acts if he had not been brainwashed by the people running this place. He feels horrible about what he has done. I just ask that you forgive him...it wasn't...he didn't mean to. It's all this place. This horrible, horrible place. [Her breath hitches for a moment as she is tearing up a bit, mainly due to her own frustration.]I'm sorry... In any case, Tiffany, Arthur, Alfred and I are fine. I hope that anyone hurt is doing well now. If they are not I can come over and held with any wounds. I'm certain Arthur is willing to do anything to make this all up to you. |

[On Nelson Street, Sophie and Tiffany emerge from their house, running with all their might. Both look very disheveled, and Sophie even has some blood spattered on her dress. Their destination is America's house, but anyone is welcomed to help them in their frantic state.] |
 |
|
[Sophie is in the living room, reading a book from the library and waiting for Arthur.
Anyone is welcome to stop by the house for a visit, but she's likely to be in a bad mood.] |
 |
|
[Sophie picks up the phone, her tone may have some sense of nervousness, but it is clear she is attempting to keep completely calm.] Hello? I was wondering if anyone has seen Arthur. He left during the chaos of everything the other day and I haven't seen him since. I know he went to help and few people. I do hope everyone was able to make it somewhere safe. Is everyone alright? |
 |

Sophie is sitting in the living room after speaking with Ren, one of the new arrivals at Mayfield. She's asked both Arthur, Tiffany and even the drone child to meet with her, as she has a question for them.] |

[If you happen to pass by 1670 Nelson street, you just might find one, Sophie Jenkins standing in the middle of the lawn, facing the house and staring. Her mouth just might be gaping open a bit as the breeze wiggles loose another piece of toilet paper from the roof which drifts down on to the front steps. Her hands are clenched into tight fists and she fights to keep her temper in check. She was of course grateful that nothing worse had happened in the town, but she was by no means pleased at the mess that was now her house, which she would have to clean the entirety of.
Oh no. And if she found out just who did it, well she'd have quite a few words to say to them.] |

[Filtered to Tiffany/Action!Spam?]Tiffany, do you know how to sew? |
 |
|
Is it a requirement to dress in costume for this Halloween? I don't have anything like that here. And what exactly is trick-or-treating? It sounds like it could mean trouble for some. |
 |
|
I would like to apologize on behalf of Arthur, or England. However you may know him. If he bothered anyone during his drunken walk last night I am terribly sorry and will do my best to make sure he doesn't repeat this embarrassing incident. [A mutter, under her breath.]
Honestly, he's almost as bad as Howl. |

[This is mainly an action post, but imagine the phone could have been knocked off the hook with all the slamming going on.][Sophie is standing in front of the closet door. She stares at it intensely, her hand already on the doorknob.] You are a very clever closet door. So clever that I'm sure you can find me the way home. Please, show me the way home. [She waits a minute, takes a deep breath and then finally swings the closet door open. All she finds inside are the cleaning supplies and a spare apron. She sighs, her expression showing that she is clearly disappointed. Quietly she closes the door and tries speaking to the door again.] Oh come now. I'm quite certain you are smart and brave enough to get me home safely. Shall we try again? [She opens the door again, but still nothing. She tries this method over again for several tries until she's reduced to just slamming the door shut and swinging it back open over and over. Finally, seemingly giving up she slams the door one final time and lets her forehead land with a thud against it.] |

Due to the nature of recent events, I was curious as to what different places people come from. It seems many of us were speaking completely different languages and I think it would be interesting to learn about these other places that people here call home. As for myself, I come from a Kingdom called Ingary. We're connected to many other kingdoms, though I have yet to visit any of them. And I admit, had never even considered it might be an option to do so until recently. Though being here has put a bit of a damper on that thought. But in any case I'd love to hear about everyone elses' homes, if you do not mind sharing. |

It seems Jolee has left this place. There is, I believe the term used is drone, here instead. Is this a very common occurrence? Does anyone know where people go after being here? |
 |
|
Since it seems there is no direct way out of this place, I was thinking I should get out and take a look around the town. Is there anyone healthy, and willing to give me a guided tour? If I were to get lost I'm sure it would take no time for me to wander back home, but I'd like to know more about the different establishments in the town and who lives where. I'd be very grateful to anyone willing to help. Also, it seems I am supposed to be a florist in this place. Does anyone know where the flower shop might be? |

[She's speaking louder than she really has to since she isn't quite sure what to do. She's seen a phone once or twice, but never grasped at just how they worked.] Ah, hello? Am I using this machine correctly? I just speak into this part here, correct? Can anyone hear me? I don't know what kind of place this is, but I don't intend to stay. I really do need to get back and clean the bathroom today. Howl's made a mess of it again. And for that matter, Howl Jenkins this had better not be your doing! I told you were going to that appointment at the castle and sending me off to some strange place isn't going to stop me! You better bring me back this instant. If you don't it's only a matter of time before I find the way back and cut up that new suit of yours. |
